Europe Square is the hub of a new business district in the metropolitan area of Barcelona. It grows around the extension of the urban Gran Via Avenue on land formerly occupied by loops of roads now converted for the use of citizens and business companies. In this manner, the square has consolidated the urban transformation process initiated by the city of L’Hospitalet in order to focus on a city geographically structured as the basis to contribute to social cohesion and increase of quality of life for all its inhabitants. The planning of the new business district of L’Hospitalet is accompanied by the consolidation of the residential network of streets of the nearby neighbourhoods of Santa Eulalia and Gornal towards Gran Via Avenue. This contributes to achieve the adequate and required diversity of uses that fits the model of the city of the future
